Native to mountainous regions of Japan the bark of this small Snake bark maple is striped green with a touch of orange in spots. The small three lobed leaves unfold red and turn bright green then yellow orange and red in autumn. Small green flowers are produced in spring and are followed by bunches of small red seeds. Autumn colours are a mixture of yellow, orange and red. This easy growing small tree has all year round interest which makes it a good choice for a smaller garden.
